Sleepless nights, long practices, hard sacrifices and a whole lot of sweat and tears were finally paid off when Polyfest made a successful return in April 2021.
In the final of our Preparing for Polyfest series, Ann-Tauilo Motuga went behind the scenes with Manurewa High School’s Samoan Group before their big performance.
In the conclusion of the event, Manurewa High School placed 1st in multiple categories such as:
- – Ulufale/Entrance – Ulufafo/Exit (tied with Avondale College)
- – Toniga/Uniform
- – Maulu’ulu/Indigenous Female Dance
- – Pese o le Aso/Choir
- – Fuataimi/Conductor
- and 2nd place for the Taualuga/The Last Dance.
Overall the group placed 2nd, with Avondale College placing 1st.
