With Christmas and the long holidays just around the corner, Pacific communities around New Zealand are continuing to help boost vaccination rates in the fight against Covid.

Those above the age of 12 who need to get their first or second dose of the vaccine are welcome to attend any of the following vaccination events. Pfizer booster shots will also be available to those 18 years and over who received their second dose six months ago.

The Pacific Locality Vaccination Centre located at 7-11 Westgate Drive, Massey, have opened their doors to walk-ins from 8:30am to 3:30pm up until Sunday 5 Dec.

A Tonga Youth Vax Event led by To’utupu Malu’i Ma’a Tonga has launched their Double 2 Double Shots, Toko! initiative. The event will operate until Sunday at two locations: The Manurewa Library carpark (7 Hill Road, Manurewa) and The Tuingāpapai church on 143 Favona Road, Māngere.

Two other Auckland-based vaccination drives will launch on Saturday, starting with a Tuvalu Pop-Up drive-through which will operate from 9am to 5pm at 40 Kirrie Avenue, Te Atatū South.

For the day workers, late night shoppers and those who are only free at night, the Night Market Vaccination Drive at the Hunters Plaza Carpark in Papatoetoe (under Kmart) will operate from 5:30pm to 10:30pm.

As Wellington moves into the orange level of the traffic light system, the Wellington Samoan Church Ministers Network will be holding a Pacific Vaccination Festival to ramp up vaccination rates and encourage the hesitant to get vaccinated. The festival will commence on Saturday at 10:30am until 3pm at 93 Hutt Park Rd, Moera.
