“We all have a part to play in Samoa Matalasi” the newly crowned Miss Samoa.
The newly crowned Miss Samoa 2024/2025 Litara Loma Leilani Ieremia-Allan says everyone has a part to play in Samoa Matalasi (beauty and uniqueness) of Samoa.
Litara was one of 15 Tama’ita’i Samoa representing the United States, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand and Samoa who competed in the pageant held at the Tuanaimato Sports complex over the weekend.
Speaking to Tagata Pasfika after her crowning, Litara says while it still feels surreal, she is grateful and thankful.
On her Mother’s side, Litara hails from the villages of Sapapalii, Fusi Safotulafai, Saoluafata, Lalomanu, Matautu Falealili, Vaie’e, Sinamoga. And on her fathers side, Pietermaritzburg in South Africa, and Raasay in Scotland.
Litara received her crown from outgoing Miss Samoa Moemoana Safa’atoa Schwenke.
Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa praised Moemoana for her service to Samoa.
Litara also praised her fellow contestants,”We all complimented each other, that’s a strength of Tama’ita’i Samoa, the role that we have of women to elevate each other.”
A former head girl of Hamilton Girls’ High School holds a Bachelor of Pacific Studies, and taught English and Pacific Literature at Manurewa High School in Auckland.
This year’s theme for Miss Samoa was Alofa I Lau Samoa Matalasi.
Litara says of her pageant sisters, “We amplified the message that we are stronger together.”
