Māori-Samoan mother brings children safely home from the States

Louisa Tipene Opetaia flew to the US earlier this month on a rescue mission to bring her sons and daughter back to New Zealand. Her sons, who hold US passports, were originally denied exemption to travel to NZ. But through the mother of three’s determination, the family are now safely back home. We spoke to them in their quarantine in Auckland about their experience dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic and Black Lives Matter protests in America, and what’s next for them after isolation…
