It’s an important week this week for our Niuean community as they celebrate or Vagahau Niue or Niuean Language week. In New Zealand, only one in four Niueans can speak the language. Amongst the NZ born Niueans, just 11% can hold a conversation in Niuean. We take a look at an after school programme at Favona Primary School in Mangere doing their bit to keep the language alive.
