Tonga’s Covid-19 cases continue to rise, a blow to the country’s current tsunami recovery efforts.
PM Hu’akavameiliku Siaosi Sovaleni caught up with John Pulu to provide an update on the Kingdom’s Covid situation.
Another press conference was held shortly after this interview, where the number of active Covid-19 cases had risen to 108.
Some of the new cases were discovered in Kolomotu’a, Ma’ufanga, Nukunuku and Mataika, while 1 case was discovered through testing in Vava’u.
None of the cases have been hospitalised.
Tonga’s first dose vaccination rate is sitting at 98%, and 89% of of the targeted population is fully vaccinated.
