It’s Cook Islands Language Week and the perfect time to enjoy Fire, the new track by singer/songwriter Soul Brown from his forthcoming EP.
Directed by Connor Pritchard, Fire features classic Cook Islands string band Kabin Bread Boyz, with Cook Island dancing by Anuanua Performing Arts Troupe and Popea Lautala performing siva afi (fire dancing).
“It has always been a dream of mine to incorporate and showcase the art of Siva Afi (Fire Dancing) in one of my music videos. I just really wanted the video to catch the heat of the moment, where for a few minutes while grooving to the music at the party, we can forget about the worries of the week,” says Soul Brown, of Samoan and Fiji heritage.
