NZ’s Acting High Commissioner for Tonga, Peter Lund spoke with John Pulu via satellite phone from Nuku’alofa earlier today.
Lund is set to meet with his Australian counterpart and PM Hu’akavameiliku Siaosi Sovaleni to discuss their response plans for tsunami and disaster relief.
Cleanup is underway in the capital where unconfirmed reports from Tonga police say there are 3 suspected deaths.
