The Fijian Drua have launched a new book that captivates how the club came into existence and its journey through the past years.
The authors are leading rugby commentator Greg Clark and veteran sports writer Norman Tasker. The book titled “The Rise of the Drua – How A Rugby Dream Captivated A Nation” offers fans and readers an inside look at the inspiring journey some 25 years in the making.
The book goes into detail on how the team was brought together during the height of the COVID crisis and its remarkable ascent in Super Rugby Pacific.
It captures the trials and tribulations both on and off the field for the Club, players and staff as they continuously relocated, re-homed and ultimately returned to Fiji.
The book is also a tribute to the players, coaches, staff, sponsors and the world’s best fans who have made the Drua one of the most loved teams of the competition in a short time.
With exclusive interviews, stark revelations, never before seen photographs and behind- the-scenes narratives that bring the Drua’s story to life.
In their three years of involvement in Super Rugby Pacific, Drua have made the top 8 for playoffs twice, both 2023 and 2024. It’s a massive feat for the club who look to hopefully go a step further in the next few years.
