Lotima Pome’e, better known as General Fiyah, captured our hearts with the sound of his voice at just 10 years old.
First gaining fame as the young powerhouse voice behind Three Houses Down, 8 years on and he’s stepping into a spotlight of his own.
“I’ve been doing this since I was a kid, now embarking on this solo journey just like how Michael Jackson went from Jackson 5 to pop, you know, King of Pop… Hopefully, I can be King of Reggae,” he says.
His solo career promises a new sound, both in his voice and in the production of his music.
However, General Fiyah’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Balancing his career with a normal teenage life, including spending time with family and attending school, has been a constant juggling act since his early years.
In a bold move, during his last year of school he ventured back to his motherland of Tonga to experience his heritage firsthand.
Attending Tupou College, Toloa, he was proud to be a part of a school deeply rooted in his family’s history.
“When I went to Toloa, bro, it was special, man… totally different to how school is here… I was living the life of a real Tongan boy, and it was very special,” he says.
Inspired by his cultural journey, General Fiyah is now back with a more mature tone releasing his latest single, One True Love.
The song, written by his father Rob Pome’e and produced by Sheldon Palmer, carries a message of love and self-discovery.
“I actually have a few songs that I’ve written, I just need to show my dad to see how he thinks of it and you know just make some improvements on it… because you know I wanna show the world that I can write as well, not just my dad and my uncles,” General Fiyah says.
With aspirations to write and produce his own songs, General Fiyah has high hopes for the next chapter of his career.
