Pacific Muse

Tepaeru-Ariki Lulu French developed a dance that was displayed at the 2013 Tempo Dance Festival. She tries to recapture the pre-missionary style of dance – before being told to be clothed, dance with straight stiff backs and feet together (i.e. legs closed). This is shown through the colonial inspired costumes and “loose” movements use in her dance.
