The pacific is a hotbed for large corporates who want to mine the lucrative minerals in the deep sea bed. Stuck in the middle are pacific government’s weighing up the impact to the environment and the economic benefits it could bring. At the recent ocean’s conference in Lisbon, FMS joined the voices of Samoa, Fiji and Palau saying there needs to be a moratorium on it.
