Cook Islands language week starts tomorrow and this years theme is ‘Ātuitui’ia au ki te au peu o tōku kāinga Ipukarea, which means, “connect me to the traditions & culture of my homeland”.
As Marama T-Pole found out from our guests, Taurakai Rongo and Ernestina Bonsu-Maro, Cook Islanders are being encouraged to embrace the dialects of their individual communities.
Tune into the PMN Cook Islands show every Monday from 3pm till late.
