New Zealand feature film Tinā directed by Miki Magasiva follows Mareta Percival (Anapela Polataivao), a grieving mother who, after losing her daughter in the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, becomes a substitute teacher at an elite private school.
Kiwi film Tinā earned more than $1 million in its opening weekend, and had the third-biggest opening week for a New Zealand movie.
