This week the Cook Islands celebrated 200 years since the arrival of Christianity to the country.
Various church groups have gathered to celebrate Gospel Day, with the theme ‘Celebrate, Proclaim and Grow in Christ’.
Pacific Music Awards nominees Samson Squad have also commemorated the occasion with a special song, Amene.
Composed by their father Jacob Samson, the group shared, “[Amene] is especially dedicated to the people of the Cook Islands and commemorates the arrival of Christianity to our Island 200 years ago on the Island of Aitutaki in 1821.”
“This song has so much spiritual meaning behind it because our LORD & SAVIOUR has always been the centre of everything we do.”
