Statistics NZ says, in the year to March 1, food overall has gone up 12.1% and, in the case of fruit and vegetables, 22%.
But food is just one part of the ‘pie’ when it comes to the household budget and the rising cost of living. So why is this happening and how do we keep our heads above water?
