Described as having a melodic alternative-pop rock sound, it’s the first track from Ruby Coley’s debut EP “Eddie”.

Raised in Grey Lynn, music has played an important role in her life, having grown up in a family of creatives including singers and filmmakers. Ruby grew her musical repertoire to become a singer in her own right while excelling on the piano.

The 21-year-old’s musical tastes include a wide-range of artists such as Gracie Abrams, Holly Humberstone, Sampha, Lana Del Ray, and Olivia Dean. She discovered her passion for songwriting in high school and, at home, would hone her skills crafting melodies and developing her signature, heartfelt lyrics.

In 2019, Ruby took the next step in her music career recording demo tracks at Roundhead Studios. Opening the door to fine-tuning her unique sound while along the way introducing her to different producers.

Her eventual journey led her to participate in the NZ on Air New Artist development project, where she teamed up with artist and songwriter Josh Naley.
