Dickies clothing brand, has partnered with Pacific artists to host a charity auction that will benefit a charity of the artist’s choosing.

Jonathan Thompson, a designer and collaborator with Comboys, an art collective, have created a reversible vest jacket that will be auctioned off on Dickies NZ’s social media platform.

“However much our garment is bought goes towards the Fono as a donation to help and support the cause,” says Jonathan.

The Fono, an organisation that offers affordable health and social services across six locations in Auckland and Northland.

In this exclusive special edition redesign, Dickies, famous for their durable and high-quality work pants, has provided a variety of their iconic loose trousers, tops, and other signature looks.

“We recycled Dickies products to create a reversible corduroy vest which is honestly too stylaaa! Garment was truly handmade by yours truly,” he adds.

Jonathan went on to thank the Dickies team for giving us the platform to express our creativity and who we are as a collective.

“This is only the beginning for us and we got a lot more in the works coming up,” he says.

Keciano Tufuga, a 20-year-old Samoan visual artist based in Auckland, is one of the Pacific artists who have joined the charity auction. Tufuga’s artwork is influenced by fa’a Samoa, anime and manga, film, and music.

This charity auction is an excellent opportunity for art and fashion enthusiasts to come together for a good cause. The items up for auction demonstrate the fusion of Pacific art and fashion, highlighting the unique cultural expressions of the Pacific.
