Up-and-coming musician Kiridox has collaborated with rapper Poetik for their latest song, “Po Some”.

The song which is set to be released tomorrow, brings a fusion of rnb and pasifika flair.

Collaborating with Samoan rapper Poetik on the track, the two artists bring an easy listening song that is certain to be a hit with fans.

“There’s a lot of work that goes behind a release, whether it’s the production of the song and music video, the content and promotion or even the legalities. So it is very fulfilling when I can finally share a project like ‘PO’ SOME.’ with the world” Kiridox said.

“It is hard not to be inspired by POETIK, he is not only an independent artist but also a business and family man. I took a lot of lessons from him about the business side of music as well as things to be cautious of within the industry. A lot of upcoming Polynesian artists dream of collabs with an OG like POETIK, so I am very grateful for his support”

Of  Tongan and Kiribati heritage, (Kiridox) has been making his mark known this year, not only with music but creating content on his social media channels.

Another milestone for Kiridox has been holding his first ever headline show in his hometown Wellington.

The show marked an important milestone, showcasing his growth in the music industry in the last couple of years.

He credits his team for helping out in whatever way they could.

“After opening for established Polynesian artists like Stallyano, Sam V & ELENA, this gave me the confidence and experience to attempt to run my own headline. I got in touch with Forza at The Residence Bar & Kitchen, who allowed me the opportunity to host there” he said.

“One thing I have learnt from my experience with shows, is that the focus should be on the people rather than just the music. Understanding this, I created a team including Kosmos & Laban Miller (two major local content creators), DJ SixOne (who had several ties to the Wellington hip-hop scene) as well as other local creatives”

The timing of the release is also a bonus as it coincides with the international rugby league schedule.

“I was inspired by the #TokoUso movement (Tongan + Samoan unity) and the pride of each country during the international Rugby League games. I also wanted to build the bridge between sounds (old school + new school) & cities (Auckland & Wellington) in a positive way”

“We want everyone, from the gangsta’s to the oldies to be vibing to “PO’ SOME.” for the upcoming match between Tonga & Samoa”

More projects are in the works for Kiridox, as he continues to team up with his Kalo Block Entertainment which is the brainchild of one of his closest mates Justin Parker.

He also hopes to continue elevating in the industry and showing love to his peers in the music scene too.

“I am the most annoying person to co-direct with because I’m botz and I’m impatient. However, the chemistry that we have, has allowed us to work at a significantly faster rate than other creatives, as we always emphasise the phrase “Lesgrow” towards our work.”

“There aren’t many Polynesian creatives in Wellington doing what we do, so being a part of a collective/support network really helps me to keep pushing.”
