Kingsland’s Royal Plaza Train Station is set to come alive with the sounds of local talent every Saturday in the month of May, thanks to “Take It to the Streets,” a free music event organised by Island Base and The Fringe District.
The event aims to showcase a diverse lineup of artists from the Island Base Masterclass, a program dedicated to supporting and mentoring young musicians.
Jasmin Lolesio, founder and managing director of Island Base Trust, describes the event as “the culmination of hard work and skill development,” where emerging artists collaborate with mentors to create a sense of community.
Sandy Mill, programme leader and vocal coach, agrees, and says the event is more than just a performance, it’s a platform for emerging artists to “spread their wings” alongside established musicians.
Island Base is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering South Pacific youth through music mentoring.
The program’s mentors, experienced local artists, and industry experts, are committed to fostering the growth of the next generation of musicians.
With “Take It to the Streets,” attendees can experience the transformative power of music and the vibrant creativity of emerging artists.
