NZ On Air has created a new fund to reach under- served audiences such as Pasifika peoples.
The under-representation was highlighted within the Music Diversity Report that has been produced by NZ On Air since 2020.
The New Music Pasifika provides funding for Pasifika artists to professionally record a single song, create visual content to promote the single, pay other marketing and promotion costs to increase New Zealand audience awareness and engagement with the audio and visual content.
Up to $11 thousand dollars is available for a single song from any artist of Pasifika descent. Applications open today and close on March 6 with a decision set for April.
