Cook Islands Language Week 2020 was launched in Ōtara, Auckland over the weekend. The theme is Kia pūāvai tō tātou Reo Māori Kūki ‘Āirani i Aotearoa, which means “That the Cook Islands Māori language may blossom throughout New Zealand”. MPs, community leaders and language teachers came together to celebrate Cook Islands culture and launch the Cook Islands Language Commission NZ.
