A New Zealand medical technology innovation hub, Medtech-iQ Aotearoa, will launch its inaugural MedTech Explorer showcase at Fale Samoa in Māngere in South Auckland later this month.
The free public event will feature interactive exhibits of groundbreaking healthcare technologies, from AI diagnostics and life-saving devices to wearable health tech and digital tools revolutionising healthcare delivery.
Designed to inspire the next generation, the event will bring together researchers, clinicians, innovators, and the Pacific community, with a strong focus on youth engagement, health equity, and career pathways in MedTech.
“Meeting the Pacific community where they are is key,” says Dr Diana Siew, co-lead of Te Titoki Mataora | Medtech Research Translator. “We want to show young people how they can make a real impact through innovation and technology.”
Pacific-led organisation Moana Connect, led in part by General Manager Dr Amio Matenga-Ikihele and joined by fellow community leader Soteria Ieremia, are championing the event to raise awareness, inspire future innovators, and strengthen ties within the community.
