A Samoan Strategic Urban Planner and Environment Policy Analyst, with more than 30 years experience, has been appointed to the NZ Housing Foundation Trust.
Orchid Atimalala has dedicated her career to improving urban and community outcomes in NZ, Australia and Samoa.
The former Chair of the Auckland Memorial War Museum is one of three new appointments announced today.
Housing Foundation is a not-for-profit, charitable trust that assists lower income renting households to become homeowners. It has helped hundreds of households into affordable home ownership, through its shared ownership and rent to own programmes by building, managing and/or funding the construction of more than 900 new affordable homes.
The Housing Foundation is governed by a board of nine Trustees.
Miss Atimalala graduated with a Bachelor of Planning from Auckland University, and held strategic advisory and governance roles – including on the North Shore City Council and the Auckland Regional Council.
She was also the deputy chair for the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel, for the Auckland Council.
