 Tinā Leads the Nominations for The New Zealand Screen Awards 2025 

The New Zealand Screen Awards are proud to announce the finalists for 2025, showcasing the breadth and depth of talent from across New Zealand’s screen industry.

Leading the pack of nominations is the hit movie Tinā.  Both Tinā and Ka Whawhai Tonu are joined by We Were Dangerous in the category for New Zealand Film Commission Best Feature Film.

“It’s wonderful to see film making a strong comeback at the New Zealand Screen Awards, particularly with such an impressive array of work on display. Despite the challenges faced by the industry both locally and globally this year, there’s much for those in front of and behind the camera to be proud of. These awards highlight the remarkable achievements and celebrate the resilience and creativity that define our industry,” comments Annie Murray, New Zealand Film Commission CEO.

Actress and comedian  Madeleine Sami is nominated for Best Actress in a Series for  (Double Parked Season 2).

Also recognised with nominations, the Reporter of the Year category highlights journalistic excellence with finalists including Indira Stewart , and Barbara Dreaver from 1 News.

Winners will be revealed at the New Zealand Screen Awards (NZSA) ceremony on Friday, 21 November 2025 at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre.
