In a mesmerising journey filled with mystery, emotion, and secrets, talented Samoan actor Frankie Adams embarks on a new adventure in the highly anticipated Amazon Original series, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.
The mini-series, based on a best selling Australian novel by Holly Ringland, is set to premiere on August 4.
Being a young Pacific woman in Hollywood, Frankie acknowledged the limited representation of Pacific performers in the industry.
“Slowly Polynesian performers are getting more opportunities. The more of us that do it, opens up more doors for each other,” she says
The drama-filled mini-series is set against the picturesque landscapes of Australia that features an impressive ensemble of actors including Sigourney Weaver (Alien) as grandmother June.
Frankie says taking on the role of Candy Blue in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart was a gratifying experience for her, but it was the Australian accent that she found to be most challenging.
“I hired an accent coach as soon as I got the job cause I’m not gonna be the only one that sounds crazy (because) that was difficult,” she says
The 29 year old hopes her portrayal of Candy exemplifies the power of perseverance and representation in the entertainment industry, especially as a grass roots actress making it in Hollywood.
Urging young Pasifika creatives to pursue their dreams, Frankie encourages others to actively create and collaborate with like-minded individuals.
