Meet Pasifika Futures Pacific Health & Wellbeing Award Winner Akarere Henry.
She has worked tirelessly to enable her communities of Tokoroa and South Waikato to improve health and wellbeing. They took a lead role in supporting families during Covid and co-designed a diabetes prevention programme that was culturally relevant to Pacific families. She is CEO of the South Waikato Pacific Islands Community Services Trust.
