The recent apprehension of an alleged overstayer has a South Auckland advocate worried about the tactics used to deport him.
That advocate is Lawyer Soane Foliaki, from Community Law South Auckland and he alleges authorities used “dawn raid” tactics to apprehend his client.
In response, Associate Immigration Minister Rachel Brooking says, government is committed to a system that’s fair and equitable, and takes matters like this very seriously.

She could not comment on the individual case.
Marama T-Pole spoke with Soane Foliaki about his concerns in our Talanoa.
