Speaking to John Pulu, Tonga’s Health Minister Hon Dr Saia Piukala also detailed the Government’s strategy to combat the spread of Covid-19 in the Kingdom.
He also thanked NZ Tongans for helping their families in Tonga during lockdown, “I do understand Tongan people in New Zealand are helping their families here sending food stuff,” Piukala says.
“Because it’s lockdown we wanted to minimise movement and I thank the Tongan people in NZ, not only sending stuff for their families, but I think it’s also important that they encourage their families here who are not vaccinated yet to come forward and receive the vaccine.”
