The Auckland Gospel Choir has been a stalwart in the New Zealand music scene for over 20 years. A recent notable highlight was their rousing arrangement of Whakaaria Mai (How Great Though Art) with Hollie Smith & Teeks. Supporting both young and established artists, the choir is a multi-cultural, multi-generational and multi-denominational choir from all over Auckland.
Choir Director Seumanu Simon Matāfai and members of AGC join host Sara-Jane to hanuju (share stories) and sing together in this week’s episode of Soul Sessions.
Soul Sessions is a web series exploring New Zealand’s Pacific gospel music scene. Watch new episodes every Sunday at 7pm right here on TP+. Made with support from NZ On Air.
