“He missed protocol, nothing major but enough to keep him out of this week” Ian Foster on Mark Telea.

The All Blacks have named their 23 man squad for this weekend’s important quarter final clash against Ireland with some notable names not making the cut.

Excluded from the team was the try scoring machine Mark Telea who was instrumental for the All Blacks in their pool matches. Foster confirmed that Telea missed selection due to disciplinary reasons.

“He missed protocol, nothing major but enough to keep him out of this week” Foster said.

“It happens… still love him and he’s trained well”

Foster also confirmed that the team and management have dealt with it as a collective and that “it is what it is”.

Crusaders powerhouse winger Leicester Fainga’anuku will replace Telea in the starting lineup.

Young halfback Cam Roigard who has been the rising star for the black jersey also  did not make the list, as coach Ian Foster had gone for a Aaron Smith and Finlay Christie duo.

The All Blacks play Ireland on Sunday morning 8:00 am NZ time, a key highlight in nz sports news.
