Ronaldo Mulitalo embraces both his Samoan and Kiwi culture ahead of Pacific Championship clash

“Theres a lot of Toa supporters here, but to see them ask for signatures as well from us the Samoan boys in the Kiwis, and also them getting around us is special” – Ronaldo Mulitalo.
Despite the rain and wet conditions, fans and supporters of rugby league flocked to the Mt Albert Lions grounds in Auckland to get a glimpse of the Kiwis/Toa Samoa fan day.
The fan day was organised in accordance to this weekend between the two nations in both mens and womens. Toa Samoa will take on the Kiwis this Sunday with the Fetu Samoa and Kiwi Ferns also being played as the curtain raiser.
Named once again in the Kiwis side is winger Ronaldo Mulitalo who says it is important to give back to the fans.
Mulitalo, who is of Samoan heritage, also featured in the Toa Samoa jersey a couple of years back.
And although this time round he is on the opposite side, he still represents both cultures proudly on the big stage.
“What’s important is our nations on the big stage, whether it’s Kiwis or Samoa,” Mulitalo said.
“Theres a lot of Toa supporters here, but to see them ask for signatures as well from us the Samoan boys in the Kiwis, and also them getting around us is special”
The clash on Sunday shapes up to be an exciting matchup given the calibre of talent being displayed on both sides.
And although the action and main focus will be on the field come game time, Mulitalo says that events such as the fan day are what matters most for him.
“This is what it’s all about, interacting with all our fans both Toa and the Kiwis” he said.
“It;s bigger than the two nations, and it’s about bringing the people together and how important it is to the people”.
