Finalists have been announced for the Pacific Business Awards 2020. Media production company SunPix Ltd, who makes Tagata Pasifika, is up for three awards – Pacific Business Enterprise, Pacific Social Enterprise and Pacific Innovation.
Construction company Trow Group, founded by 2018 SunPix Enterprise Winner Saia Latu, is also up for three awards – Pacific Business Enterprise, Pacific Social Enterprise and Pacific Business Entrepreneur.
Pasifika NGO Le Va is also up for three awards – Pacific Business Enterprise, Pacific Social Enterprise and Pacific Innovation.
Social services app MYRIVR, founded by 2018 SunPix Pacific Community Leadership Winner Akerei Maresala-Thomson, is a finalist in the Pacific Innovation category.
The annual Pacific Business Awards are run by the Pacific Business Trust, a Government-funded not-for-profit that provides Pacific businesses support and mentoring in New Zealand. The awards, now in their 12th year, celebrate the success of Pacific entrepreneurs and businesses nationally.
An awards ceremony was originally scheduled to take place in May but were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Information regarding event times will be released shortly.

PACIFIC INNOVATION AWARD:

PACIFIC WOMAN IN BUSINESS AWARD:
Recognises successful Pacific women who own their own business. Eligible entrants must own at least 50% of their business.

PACIFIC YOUTH ENTREPRENEUR AWARD:
