The Queen’s Birthday honours list recognised three distinguished Pacific men

The Queen’s birthday New Zealand honours list recognised three Pacific men for their individual contribution to their respective communities. Emeritus professor, Albert Wendt receives the highest honour and becomes a member of the order of NZ or ONZ for his services to the country. Rugby great Tuifa’asisina Bryan Williams becomes a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit and Sione Liava’a received a Queen’s Service Medal for services to the Tongan community
