Summer tour in store for operatic trio SOL3 MIO

They are one of Aotearoa’s most beloved operatic groups, and their fans will be happy to know they’re back. SOL3 MIO have recently announced their national Summer tour, travelling to some of their usual Kiwi spots to perform for their ardent supporters.

“It’s been a tough year for everyone, and it’s time to get together and sing,” says baritone Moses Mackay. “We love touring here in Aotearoa and especially to perform in some of these stunning venues. We can’t wait to share these new songs with you.”

SOL3 MIO will perform some of their fan favourites and introduce new original songs. Lucky fans in Havelock North, Invercargill, Oamaru, Dunedin, Christchurch, New Plymouth, Whanganui, Wellington, Palmerston North and Hamilton will be treated to the ultimate SOL3 MIO Summer experience across February and March 2021.

The trio have been keeping busy with their new radio gig hosting the Morning Breakfast show on Flava. After receiving favourable reviews for their celebrity hosting stint, the trio were originally asked to host the show till the end of 2020.

But recently, the group  announced they’ll continue their hosting duties into 2021. “Because we’ve grown up with the music, it means a whole more to us,” enthuses Tenor Amitai Pati. “We can get across to the audience a lot easier.”

“It’s that juxtaposition of the genres,” adds tenor Pene Pati. “You know, it’s kinda crazy. Everyone’s calling going, “Oh man! Aren’t you guys those classical singers?”‘

In a year when many artists have had their performances cancelled, the Summer tour will give the trio a chance to stretch their operatic vocal muscles once more.

Tickets go on sale this Friday 18th December on www.endeavour.live/sol3mio.
