“I didn’t set out to make this about love, but I realised how much I wear my heart on my sleeve” – Tyrun
Aotearoa-raised Niuean-Samoan artist Tyrun is opening up with his debut EP Fall In Love Again, a four-track project blending Vagahau Niue with contemporary pop and R&B to explore identity, love and belonging.
Featuring FILA, Honestly, Chemistry and feelinloveagain, the EP moves between stripped-back moments and high-energy production, reflecting a journey shaped by personal experiences and vulnerability.
“I didn’t set out to make this about love, but I realised how much I wear my heart on my sleeve,” Tyrun says.
As part of the Niuean diaspora in New Zealand, he uses music to reconnect with language and culture, weaving Vagahau Niue throughout the project to encourage others to do the same.
“This music is first and foremost for Tagata Niue, and for young queer Pasifika people who want to see themselves reflected,” he says.
The EP is accompanied by the single Chemistry, a Miami bass-inspired track centred on confidence and self-love.
“All four tracks were made with my long-time collaborator JARNA,” Tyrun adds, highlighting the creative partnership behind the project.
Fall In Love Again is available now on all major streaming platforms.
