TP+ Tonga police convene special task force

Tonga Police have convened a special task force to look into a spate of recent deaths which include a double homicide and six road deaths. The homicide involves a middle-aged Chinese couple found with stab wounds, while a crash in Vava’u claimed two of the road casualties. It’s been two weeks since Cyclone Gita smashed into the island kingdom causing widespread damage and raising stress levels. Police District Commander Tevita Vailea says a special task force will be visiting communities to spread the safety message and talk to community leaders.
