Grammy-nominated Hawaiian singer-songwriter Josh Tatofi has released his new 12-track album, Paniolo Country.

The album celebrates Hawaii’s paniolo, or Hawaiian cowboy, heritage, blending Tatofi’s signature Country Soul sound with traditional country storytelling.

The release follows a milestone year for Tatofi, including his Grand Ole Opry debut in August, where he became just the fourth Polynesian artist to perform on the iconic stage. He also recently completed his international ‘Looking For Love’ tour, with shows across the South Pacific, Australia, Asia and North America.

Paniolo Country features eight original songs, seven co-written by Tatofi, alongside his takes on country classics including ‘Tennessee Whiskey’, ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’, ‘Paniolo Country’ and ‘Baby Blue’.

‘Baby Blue’ has particular significance for Tatofi, having originally been recorded by his father, Tivaini Tatofi, with Hawaiian group Kapena.

Produced primarily by Tatofi and Tyler Cain, with additional production from Daniel Agee, the album draws on Tatofi’s Hawaiian upbringing and his musical journey in Nashville.

“This music feels like where I come from, where I’ve been, and where I’m headed all coming together at the right time,” Tatofi says.

“This one’s for the history of Country living and Country music in Hawaii, for the generations before us who lived it, played it, and made it part of who we are.”

Tatofi has more than 350 million global streams and a Grammy nomination, and has earned eight gold and two platinum New Zealand certifications.
