Shepherds Reign, the electrifying Polynesian heavy metal rock band from South Auckland has released their latest visuals to their new song, ALA MAI (AWAKEN).
Directed by Bahador Borhani, its use of CGI and cinematography transports viewers into the heart of Shepherds Reign’s journey.
Coinciding with Samoan language week, the video is said to be a rallying cry of strength and wisdom to the Polynesian forefathers.
Also adding a layer of depth is Katie Isla Middleton-Tansey who delivers an enchanting performance as Patupaiarehe (a mythical figure in Polynesian folklore).
Hoping to deliver a message of hope and solidarity amidst global challenges, the project has been brought to life with the generous support of NZ on Air.
Continuing to push boundaries through genre and culture, Shepherds Reign hopes listeners will embrace their own roots through the music and visuals.
ALA MAI (AWAKEN) is now available on YouTube and all audio streaming platforms.
