Samoan-Japanese artist Yuki Kihara hit headlines last year when she was named New Zealand’s representative at the next Venice Biennale – regarded as the Olympics of the art world.
Reporter Johnson Raela caught up with Kihara at her solo exhibition at Pātaka Art Museum in Porirua last month, which brought together Samoan siapo and Japanese kimono.
