As we approach the final weeks of Polyfest 2021 preparation, our reporter Ann-Tauilo follows Manurewa High School’s Samoan Polyfest Group to capture the raw emotions and struggles of what it takes to formulate a performance during these unprecedented times.

The possibility of the ASB Polyfest 2021 commencing this year is looking quite promising.

By continuing to do our part in managing the spread of COVID 19, participating schools will most likely get the opportunity to showcase their cultural performances on stage from April 14th – 17th 2021.

Cultural groups such as the Samoan group are often made up of 20 students and above. Just over a week out from Polyfest, we spoke to the leaders of the Manurewa High School Samoan Group to discuss the challenges of being a leader and to share how they resolve their differences in teaching, choreographing and managing the team.

Watch Part 1 here.
