Almost two years ago Junior Tofa arrived from Samoa with his family to visit his sick grandfather. Then Covid struck, and the family were stuck in New Zealand. It was during last year when they received the devastating news: Junior was sick with a deadly illness — rheumatic heart disease.
Junior has a chance to live a normal life, but he needs a life-saving operation urgently. However, at a cost of around $50,000, it’s money the family doesn’t have.
