Auckland high schools collaborate for World Environment Day

A team of students from Papatoetoe High School have collaborated with other Auckland high schools for a music video to celebrate International Environment Day 2020, observed last Friday.

Papatoetoe High School’s Head Girl Victoria Stephenson planned out the project, inspired by Lil Dicky’s Earth song.

“We want to acknowledge Lil Dicky and the various artists that featured on his track. Their work influenced us greatly to create our own version of that song about our breathtaking country – Aotearoa.
Climate change is an important issue to us and we wanted to showcase our beautiful environment, and the cultural diversity we have, before it’s too late.”

Auckland high schools featured include Papatoetoe High School, Onehunga High School, Otahuhu College, Epsom Girls’ Grammar School, Ormiston Senior College, Mount Albert Grammar School, Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate, Auckland Girls’ Grammar School, James Cook High School, Aorere College and St Cuthbert’s College.
