Vaimoso memorial to lives lost in 1918 influenza pandemic restored

In 1918 the influenza pandemic killed over 22% of the population of Samoa.

Over 100 years on the mass grave site where hundreds of people were buried has finally been restored.

The Honourable Minister of Social Development Carmel Sepuloni together with the Prime Minister of Samoa, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, rededicated the memorial site in a special gathering held in the village of Vaimoso.
