“The people of Fiji are no strangers to hardships and challenges, and they know that when tough times come, they must be faced head on” Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans.
With their season on the line in what has arguably been their worst year in the competition so far, Fijian Drua are taking action to rally their fans through these tough times. CEO Mark Evans is taking the lead.
Evans released a video on the Drua online platforms, urging and reminding fans to keep the faith as the side sit at the bottom of the competition table.
So far they have only managed to scrape together two wins this season and falling to a total of eight losses. It’s something that Evans has addressed raw and truthfully in the video statement regarding the team’s efforts.
“None of us here are pleased with our season to date. It’s been patchy with a couple of really good wins against quality top six opposition, a couple of frankly really poor unacceptable performances and quite a few decent efforts where we’ve come out just on the wrong side of the scoreline, ” Evans said.
“But overall all of us are unhappy with the recent results so far”

In Drua’s first four games of the season, they had lost by either one or two points, losing the match in the dying minutes.
Known for their home ground winning streaks in the past seasons, the side have failed to emulate this success only managing one win so far at home against the Waratahs. This is also their only win for this year.
But it’s that same support for the Fijian fans and community in the past seasons that Evans is banking on to be continuous in the sides last remaining matches.
“I know many of you are feeling a bit deflated, but i’d urge you to keep the faith. The people of Fiji are no strangers to hardships and challenges, and they know that when tough times come, they must be faced head on” Evans added
“The key point is to stick together by which I mean everybody, players, coaches, staff, sponsors and most importantly the fans . All need to stay committed and positive”
Drua are back home in Suva this weekend taking on the Queensland Reds.
