Former International rugby player for the Wallabies and Tonga Head Coach Toutai Kefu has been named head coach for the First Nations & Pasifika XV.
Toutai will coach the first ever First Nations & Pasifika XV team that will face the British & Irish Lions in July.
Speaking to the media, Toutai says he is keen to name his squad as soon as possible.
On his wishlist is Moana Pasifika Captain Ardie Savea, Wallabies veteran Kurtley Beale and backrower Langi Gleeson.
Toutai, who is currently coaching in Japan, stressed the First Nations & Pasifika XV would represent “family” and “heritage” for past rugby players and their families in Australia.
First Nations & Pasifika XV will face British & Irish Lions Tuesday 22 July at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne
