The Government of Niue today announced Quarantine Free Travel to Niue from Monday 27 June 2022. Passenger flights are set to resume every week.

Cabinet has approved a timeline for Niue transitioning from home isolation to Quarantine Free Travel in preparation for this start date.

Quarantine Free Travel to Niue (those who also meet normal immigration requirements) will be open to all travellers once all pre-departure testing requirements have been met.

All travellers arriving in Niue once QFT commences will still be required to undertake Covid-testing as required by the Niue Health Department by completing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.

Premier of Niue Dalton Tagelagi says Niue is unique as one of the few countries globally that have managed to keep Covid-19 at the border since its first case in March 2022.

“Two-way quarantine-free travel is a significant step for Niue’s Covid-19 recovery and it will mean families can reconnect, commercial arrangements can resume, and our families can visit their homes in Niue.”

GON officials will continue to work towards ensuring all safety protocols and response capabilities are in place as part of its phased approach toward two-way quarantine free travel between Niue and New Zealand.

Earlier this week Samoa Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa, announced the country’s intention to open their international borders from August-September.
