Lotu Mo’oni enriching Aotearoa during COVID-19

The theme for Tongan Language Week this year is Fakakoloa ‘o Aotearoa ‘aki ‘a e lotu mo’oni – a Tongan perspective of enriching Aotearoa spiritually.

It’s the silk of the Pacific – tapa, kapa, gatu or siapo can be found across most cultures in Oceania, but on the island of Niue, the art of barkcloth-making, or hiapo, has all but disappeared.
