The Miss Samoa NZ Organisation has announced the pageant will pause in 2026 as it transitions to a biennial format.

Miss Samoa NZ 2025, Paulina Tapua’i-Soti, will conclude her reign on 12 June 2026 and return to crown the next titleholder in 2027.

Director Seumanu Ulalēmamae Te’evā Matafai said the decision follows consultation and reflects rising costs and broader challenges affecting large-scale cultural events.

“Moving to a biennial format allows us to strengthen the quality, impact, and cultural integrity of the platform,” she said.

The organisation remains committed to celebrating Samoan culture, empowering young women, and building community leadership, with the extended timeframe allowing for stronger planning and engagement.

Further details on the 2027 pageant will be announced in due course.
