The aim for more heart surgeries for children in the Pacific region is an initiative made possible through the New Zealand Medical Treatment Scheme (NZMTS), which is managed by the Pasifika Medical Association Group (PMA Group) and funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).
